The smaller sister island of Majorca, Menorca is only a fifth of the size. The island has a beautiful hilly landscape and pine-fringed coast with more beaches than all the other Balearic Islands combined – ranging from long stretches of silver or golden sand to tiny calas (sandy coves), both excellent to visit by a Luxury Yacht fo Charter. It is blissfully free of tourist development and was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve 1993. The isolated calas around the coast are best explored by renting a yacht or on board fantastic Superyachts.
Many of them are only accessible by sea and even in high season you can always find one to yourself to while away an idyllic day of sand and sea.
Mahòn, the island’s capital on the east coast is a sleepy, elegant city, base of many yachts for charter operating in all the Balearic Islands. It has one of the world’s largest natural harbours, cause of a centuries-long squabble between the English, French and Spanish, surrounded by breathtaking scenery – a cultural gem.
